I upgraded my Ender 3 PRo

This version works fine on the Ender 3, BUT you have to get the right firmware to use it and you have to decide where to plug it in. Creality is not great on support so you have to be willing to go on line and figure it out on your own. They did update the FW on the 14th of November, but they ALSO disabled a bunch of other features in the firmware. So it's very frustrating to get the BLTouch working, but also loose the ability to make a tone or change filament via GCode.

Works way better than the fakes

I bought a generic "3d touch" probe, and that never did work very well so I broke down and bought this genuine Creality BLTouch for my Ender 3. I may have cost 1/4 of the price of the printer, but it works very well. It accurately probes the bed height every time. Worth the extra cost in my opinion. Don't wast your money on the cheap ones.

Enjoy

Sometimes the BLTouch (due to the springs in the mounting system) will get a little crooked which changes the z offset. You just have to add checking for that to your pre-print checklist and just give the BLTouch a little push to get it to pop back into being straight upright before it probes. This happens on both of my printers, and if you don't watch out for it, you could end up with hot end contacting the bed.

Automatic bed leveling, very precise.

With the right firmware modifications (about 10 minutes work for my Marlin based board) this let my upgrade my Ender3 to print so much easier. My bed was fairly warped right out of the box, so even manually leveling the bed was only going to go so far. With this I was able to first generate a heightmap using the console, and I used that to manually adjust the bed to get it as level as I could, then using the automatic mesh leveling before every print and since then every first layer has stuck with no problems.
